What is #GivingTuesday?
This year, on Tuesday, November 28th, 2017, the YMCA of Central Massachusetts is participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving.
#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. This year, #GivingTuesday falls on November 28. #GivingTuesday harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners to transform how people think about, talk about, and participate in the giving season. It inspires people to take collective action to improve their communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they believe in, and help create a better world. #GivingTuesday demonstrates how every act of generosity counts, and that they mean even more when we give together.
We invite you to join the movement and help get the message out and give this November 28.

#UNselfie
The #UNselfie, or the selfless selfie, is a powerful way to show how and why you are giving.
Here are 3 quick steps to becoming an #UNselfie master:
- Take a “selfie” with a caption or use our template (download below) to explain how or why you and/or your friends are giving.
- Add the hashtags #UNselfie, #GivingTuesday, and #YMCAofCM.
- Post it to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat – share far and wide & get your friends to join you!

Annual Campaign
Dollars secured in the Y’s Annual Campaign provide scholarships to children, teens, individuals and families who would otherwise not be able to participate in Y programs. We measure success through lives impacted – the young boy who builds self-confidence in swim lessons; the mom who achieves a healthy weight through Zumba classes; the children eating nutritious meals for free in our after school programs; the cancer survivor enrolling in our Livestrong® at the Y program.
The Y is a charity dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.
