City of Worcester Mask update

City of Worcester Indoor Mask Mandate beginning 9/20/2021

As a result of the continued upward trend of cases and the emergence of the highly contagious Delta Variant and its impact on our community, the city of Worcester has imposed a mask mandate for indoor spaces starting Monday, September 20, 2021.

Per the city of Worcester’s emergency order, our Central Community Branch and our Greendale Family Branch will begin requiring face masks for ALL who enter our building on Monday, September 20th.

Beginning Monday, September 20, 2021, the following Face Mask Policy will take effect in our Worcester branches:

  • ALL people, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a face mask or covering while inside the building. This policy aligns with the City of Worcester’s indoor mask mandate.

Precautions we continue to take to ensure health and safety at the Y:

  • Cleaned and disinfected all surfaces with EPA-approved cleaners
  • Ensured anti-bacterial agents are available for member use as needed
  • Conducted staff training and established clear guidelines so that staff can help members stay healthy
  • Created facility communications to relay program protocols

Thank you for your immense patience and for staying with us during these challenging times.

Labor Day Weekend Announcement

What a summer! Over 1,000 children had an amazing camp experience each day filled with sunshine, friendships and new adventures. As we celebrate Labor Day, and pay tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers, I want to appreciate and recognize our YMCA team who showed up every day ready to lead and serve. All branches of the YMCA of Central Massachusetts will be closing at Noon on Saturday, September 4th and will be closed on Sunday, September 5th and Monday, September 6th in honor of Labor Day. We will return on Tuesday, September 7th ready to deliver fantastic fall programming.

p.s. – Oh, there’s more! We know how hard YOU have worked over the past year too! As a congrats and thank you, we invite you to pick up a guest pass at your Branch’s Welcome Center between September 1st and September 15th to share your YMCA community with a family member or friend.

Enjoy the remaining days of summer!
