Our Program

OUR PROGRAM

(entering 1^st-7^th grade)

Children enjoy their first camp experience through an age appropriate program that includes arts & crafts, group games, songs, and cooking projects. They will also enjoy daily free play, swim and gym under the supervision of our caring and professional staff.

Campers – $225 / week

SCHEDULE

One week sessions, June 25 – August 23, 2018

8:00AM to 5:30PM, Monday – Friday

*Sessions are dependent upon school schedules and follows the Worcester Public Schools schedule. If needed based on the WPS release date, the week before will be added. Decisions will be made by the end of March.

YMCA ALDEN SUMMER PROGRAM THEMES 2018

Week 1: June 25^th-29^th

Celebrations of Nations: This week campers will go global and celebrate different cultures by learning about music, food, and soccer for another year of the World Cup!

Week 2: July 2^nd-6^th*

From Sea to Shining Sea: This week is all things USA, the Statue of Liberty, inventions with Ben Franklin, Red, White and You! *No program July 4^th

Week 3: July 9^th-13^th

Urban Adventures – Around the city in 5 days: This week campers will explore all the things that make city-living special, Worcester’s history, architecture, signs, photography, and a field trip to the Worcester Bravehearts!

Week 4: July 16^th-20^th

My Big Backyard: This week is all about playing outside! We’ll make mud pies, introduce gardening, play backyard games, have a cookout, and learn about bugs, birds, and plants in our own back yard. We are also taking a trip up to Mesa Farms and learn about their even bigger backyard learning about farming, the horses, and more.

Week 5: July 23^rd-27^th

Desert Oasis and Island Explorers: This week campers will go from a desert oasis to under-the-sea adventures and explore all planet earth has to offer.

Week 6: July 30^th-August 3^rd

Summer Slime Time: This week is all about all things ooey-gooey! Children will make all types of slime and different mad scientist experiments.

Week 7: August 6^th-10^th

Creative Campers: This week campers will get their creative minds going by focusing on all things art.

Week 8: August 13^th-17^th

Barnyard Palooza: This week campers are going to learn more about farm living. Get back in the van for another trip to Mesa Farms and to Green Hill Park.

Week 9: August 20^th-14^th

Peace Out!: Summer is wrapping up and campers will create, design, build, and craft. They’ll explore change through art and learn about their impact on the world.
