VOLUNTEER

Volunteering is more than just sharing your time and passion, it’s about the satisfaction of knowing you are helping people become stronger, giving back to your community, and gaining valuable work experience. When you volunteer at the Y, you take an active role in bringing about meaningful, enduring change right in your own neighborhood. While our programs and facilities are based on the unique needs and interest of our communities, every Y has one thing in common: our people. The volunteers, staff, members, partners and donors are all united by a deep commitment to make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve.

The YMCA of Central Massachusetts has exciting volunteer opportunities at each of our Central MA branches.

Volunteering at the YMCA is a fun and rewarding way to support your neighbors, strengthen your community, and connect with amazing people.

There are many ways you, your friends or your whole family can contribute, no matter your interests or schedule.

  • Join a Branch Board of Governors
  • Be a Chairperson for one of our many fundraising efforts, such as the Annual Campaign, LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA Annual Event, YMCA Annual Golf Classic, and Mission in Motion
  • Serve on a special projects subcommittee
  • Volunteer at a community event representing the Y
  • Ready a story to our Childcare/Preschool children
  • Become a sports coach, swim instructor, or wellness ambassador
  • Serve as a “mentor” in the Minority Achievers Program

Board of Governors
